Job summary

American Addiction Centers seeks an Admission Treatment Advocate to welcome clients, assist in admissions, and coordinate handoffs to the Treatment Team. The ATA will operate the company vehicle for client transport and support safety, documentation, and compliance throughout the intake process.

Responsibilities include onboarding, safety searches, crisis de-escalation when needed, and collaboration with nursing and clinical staff to enhance patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required from an accredited institution.
• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Behavioral Sciences (social sciences, human services, counseling or psychology).
• Valid Driver’s License required with insurable driving record.
• Working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.
• 1 year experience in a behavioral healthcare field preferred.
• Knowledge of utilizing electronic health record software and documentation preferred.
• Ability to read, write and interpret written information, type documentation, present information to groups and participate in meetings.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Welcome clients into the treatment facility and orient them to program rules and schedules.
• Assist with intake paperwork and assign treatment teams.
• Coordinate information handoff to the Treatment Team for smooth admission.
• Operate the company vehicle to transport clients as assigned.
• Conduct belongings and safety searches and manage contraband per policy.
• Maintain crisis intervention certification and de-escalation when needed.
• Collaborate with Nursing and Clinical staff to support patients.
• Encourage participation in group, individual, and family counseling.
• Document admissions and progress notes in the EHR accurately.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and AAC policies.
• Transport clients to and from the facility and assist with orientation questions.
• Uphold patient-centered, ethical care and professional boundaries.
