Western Dakota Technical College in Rapid City, SD seeks an Admissions Assistant - Front Desk to support admissions processes, handle applications and documents, maintain student records, and provide welcoming front desk service to students and visitors.
This full-time, on-campus role requires strong communication and organizational skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office and databases, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with confidentiality.
The Admissions Assistant - Front Desk supports the admissions process and serves as a primary point of contact for students, prospective students, and visitors. This position processes applications and documents, maintains accurate student records, coordinates front desk operations and campus tours, supports testing and outreach, and provides responsive, student-centered service.
This is a full-time, on-campus position with regular Monday-Friday hours generally scheduled between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required for events, meetings, or other department activities.
This position requires extended periods of sitting, standing, computer use, and interaction with students and visitors. Occasional lifting or moving of materials up to 25 pounds may be required.
High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.
1-3 years of related administrative, customer service, or higher education experience preferred.
Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, frequent interruptions, and confidential information.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database/data entry systems.
Ability to build positive, professional relationships with students, staff, and visitors.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems.

ANNUAL SECURITY REPORT/CAMPUS SECURITY CRIME STATISTICS
The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act requires that the college’s Annual Security Report which includes crime statistics be made available to prospective employees and prospective students upon request. Western Dakota Technical College Annual Security Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported Clery crimes that occurred on campus and on public property within or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus safety and security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault prevention and response, timely warnings, emergency response, and other matters.
