Job description

Purpose

The Admissions Assistant - Front Desk supports the admissions process and serves as a primary point of contact for students, prospective students, and visitors. This position processes applications and documents, maintains accurate student records, coordinates front desk operations and campus tours, supports testing and outreach, and provides responsive, student-centered service.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, on-campus position with regular Monday-Friday hours generally scheduled between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required for events, meetings, or other department activities.

Physical Demands

This position requires extended periods of sitting, standing, computer use, and interaction with students and visitors. Occasional lifting or moving of materials up to 25 pounds may be required.

Responsibilities
  • Process admissions applications and supporting documents in Salesforce and Jenzabar.
  • Maintain accurate applicant and student records and assign follow-up tasks to Admissions Specialists.
  • Provide welcoming, responsive front desk and phone support for students, prospective students, families, and visitors.
  • Coordinate campus tours.
  • Support student testing, admissions events, and outreach activities.
  • Maintain accurate reports, databases, spreadsheets, and student contact information.
  • Support Enrollment Services projects and maintain confidentiality of student information.
Requirements

High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.

1-3 years of related administrative, customer service, or higher education experience preferred.

Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, frequent interruptions, and confidential information.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database/data entry systems.

Ability to build positive, professional relationships with students, staff, and visitors.

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Western Dakota Technical College Annual Security Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported Clery crimes that occurred on campus and on public property within or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus safety and security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault prevention and response, timely warnings, emergency response, and other matters.
