Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts invites an Admissions Advisor I to join our Modesto campus. This full-time role screens applicants for program fit, conducts interviews, and counsels students on enrollment options.

You will manage inquiries, schedule tours, and guide candidates through documentation and enrollment steps. You will also track applicants in our ATS, provide coaching, and collaborate with campus leadership to meet enrollment goals.

Qualifications

• Experience in an academic admissions environment.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Experience with recruitment, interviewing and candidate selection.
• Experience using an Applicant Tracking System.
• Strong interpersonal, time-management and teamwork skills.
• Excellent communication and coaching abilities.

Responsibilities

• Review inquiries and calls, set appointments and campus tours.
• Interview candidates to assess motivation and fit for programs.
• Educate candidates on program demands and requirements.
• Explain documentation needs and enrollment steps clearly.
• Provide feedback and coaching to candidates post-interview.
• Complete student applications and update enrollment pipeline.
• Prepare enrollment reports for weekly campus meetings.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in community events.

The AA is ultimately the primary screen for student acceptance through using a combination of tools including interviewing, initial competency test scores, review of experience, and review of prior academic requirements. The AA will ultimately require the knowledge of each program at their campus and be prepared to offer counsel to prospective students on both the viability of the program for the student and ensuring the students stated goals are in alignment with the career opportunities presented by the program the student is interested in. In the advisory role, the AA will monitor students enrolled during the pre-requisite course and the first 30 days of the program to help support the student through the transition process and if necessary revisit the initial goals and personal situation of the student.Review and call all web inquiries and call-insSet appointments and tours with prospective studentsInterview candidates to understand – motive, appropriateness of program for their career objectives, personal ability to manage the program and their existing life circumstancesEducate candidates on the nature of the program and its academic demandsClearly communicate program requirements, academic requirements, and documentation needsProviding results to candidates one on one for feedback and coachingComplete application form with studentsUpdate pipeline status of candidates as they move through from introduction/information to enrollment stages of the admissions processPrepare student enrollment report for discussion at weekly campus meetingAttend weekly staff meetings as directed by the Campus DirectorParticipate in community functions and career daysParticipate in campus graduation ceremonies (see graduation procedure)Actively seek out and participate in, ongoing admissions best practicesAssigned duties as required by their direct managerRequirementsExperience working within an academic admissions environmentAssociate Degree, Bachelors Degree PreferredRecruitment, interviewing and selection skills and experienceExperience working with an applicant tracking systemStrong interpersonal skills developed within a counseling and advisory capacityExcellent time management, detail-orientation and team player skillsGurnick Academy of Medical Arts is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate against applicants on the basis of race, color, religion, age, sex, marital status, national origin, disability, veteran status, or other characteristics protected by any applicable law.
