Responsibilities

  • Monitor, maintain, and utilize sound working knowledge of program standards (OCFS, OPWDD, CSE, HIPAA).
  • Recognize, evaluate, and develop responses to divisional needs.
  • Maintain the safety, security, and behavioral management of the division and empower staff per Agency Policy.
  • Ensure staffing standards adhere to regulatory standards.
  • Assign and reassign staff according to unit needs.
  • Notify VP of Quality Assurance of abuse allegations.
  • Ensure policies are followed.
  • Assist Activities Coordinator and Recreation to include activities in daily schedules.
  • Conduct briefings and remain on duty until relieved.
  • Complete end-of-month paperwork and route accordingly.
  • Assure quarterly fire drills are conducted within units.
  • Ensure understanding of union contracts.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Job description

Primary Duties & Essential Functions:

  • Monitor, maintain, and utilize sound working knowledge of all program standards (OCFS, OPWDD, CSE, and HIPAA).
  • Recognize, evaluate, and develop responses to divisional needs.
  • Maintain the safety, security, and behavioral management of the division and is empowered to make decisions according to Agency Policy.
  • Ensure staffing standards are in adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Assign and reassign staff according to the individual needs of the units.
  • Ensure that the Vice President of Quality Assurance is notified of allegations of abuse.
  • Ensure operational policies are followed and adhered to.
  • Assist Activities Coordinator and the Recreation department to ensure daily schedules incorporate recreational and community activities.
  • Conduct briefings without going and incoming Administrator on Duty. Remain on duty until properly relieved.
  • Complete all end-of-the-month paperwork and route accordingly.
  • Assure that quarterly fire drills are conducted within the units.
  • Ensure that union contractual agreements are understood and maintained.

Required Education, Knowledge and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Abilities and Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand or run for moderate periods of time.
  • Must have a valid NYS driver’s license with clean MVR.
  • Must be able to perform restraints and maintain TCI certification.
  • Willingness to respond to the needs of a culturally diverse population.
