This position manages and coordinates procurement and administrative compliance activities for the local health department. The position develops and maintains internal procedures and controls; monitors procurement, contracts, grants, audits, records, policies, and regulatory requirements; and advises the Director of Administration regarding compliance risks, deficiencies, and recommended corrective actions. This position coordinates with program leadership, fiscal staff, the Maryland Department of Health, vendors, contractors, grantors, auditors, and other governmental entities to ensure required documentation, approvals, reporting, and follow-up actions are completed accurately and on time. This position supervises the Administrative Officer III and any other assigned professional or support staff by planning and assigning work, establishing priorities and deadlines, reviewing and approving work products, evaluating performance, providing guidance and training, and recommending appropriate personnel actions. This position operates under the general supervision of the Director of Administration and does not possess final procurement, contract-award, grant, or fiscal approval authority.
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Five years of administrative staff or professional work.
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
