Job summary

Cheboygan Senior Care is seeking an experienced Administrator to oversee the operations of a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting. This role leads the facility, ensures resident-centered care, and maintains regulatory compliance while driving financial performance.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a proven track record in long‑term care operations and regulatory readiness.

Qualifications

  • Active Nursing Home Administrator license in the applicable state.
  • Previous administrative or senior leadership experience in skilled nursing or long‑term care.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Graduate‑level education or additional healthcare/business credentials are welcomed.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the overall operation of the facility and establish clear expectations for department leaders.
  • Build a strong leadership team through coaching, communication, accountability, and professional development.
  • Translate organizational objectives into practical operational plans and measurable goals.
  • Manage financial performance, including census, revenue, expenses, labor utilization, and accounts receivable.
  • Partner with nursing and clinical leadership to support safe, effective, and resident-centered care.
  • Maintain readiness for regulatory inspections and ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Evaluate operational data and key performance indicators to identify trends, opportunities, and areas requiring corrective action.
  • Guide admissions and occupancy efforts while considering resident needs, available services, and appropriate financial considerations.
  • Work with department leaders to address staffing needs and maintain appropriate workforce coverage.
  • Review staffing patterns and payroll information and make adjustments based on operational demands.
  • Champion quality and performance improvement efforts throughout the facility.
  • Respond to employee issues and workplace concerns in partnership with human resources.
  • Promote an environment that supports teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and employee engagement.
  • Monitor resident and family feedback and coordinate efforts to improve the overall experience.
  • Oversee workplace safety practices, incident follow-up, and related claims activity.
  • Ensure required documentation, reports, and submissions are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Participate in organizational planning, budgeting, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Perform other leadership responsibilities as needed.

About the Opportunity

This individual will have broad responsibility for facility performance, team leadership, resident experience, regulatory compliance, financial results, and day-to-day operations.

Required Credentials & Experience
  • Active Nursing Home Administrator license in the applicable state.

  • Previous administrative or senior leadership experience in skilled nursing or long‑term care.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Graduate‑level education or additional healthcare/business credentials are welcomed.

Work Environment & Physical Expectations

This is a hands‑on leadership position requiring regular interaction with residents, families, employees, department leaders, and external stakeholders.

The role may require:

  • Variable working hours and availability outside of standard business hours when operational needs arise.

  • Frequent movement throughout the facility.

  • Periods of standing, walking, bending, sitting, and lifting.

  • Ability to perform required duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
