Devoted to providing clerical and/or office support activities for city functions and staff. Incumbents assigned to this class provide more advanced transaction processing involving basic research, verification, reconciliation and mathematical calculations, as well as respond to internal and external customer questions and inquiries by communicating standard policies and procedures. Incumbents may be assigned to confidential positions or handle confidential materials.
An incumbent is responsible for providing administrative support to staff, projects and/or an office or field function including processing more complex financial and service-related transactions and monitoring their status; processing customer-related transactions such as service requests, registrations and/or cash-handling; preparing documents, reports and presentations; entering and retrieving data; and ensuring the accuracy of information contained in databases and systems.
