Department: Clerk of Courts

Sub-Department: N/A

Pay Grade: 104

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Employment Status: Full Time

Reports to: Second Deputy

Supervises: N/A

Job Summary

To perform a variety of specialized departmental clerical duties and responsibilities within the assigned department.

Essential Job Functions

  • Completes assigned juvenile workload.
  • Creates and processes incoming case packets.
  • Distribute, docket in computerized case management system, scan, and file all correspondence and documents filed with the department.
  • Answers telephone and takes messages or transfers calls to proper individuals.
  • Greets and assists general public by taking or providing information, receiving payments or directing them to proper locations.
  • Prepares and processes required department documents, forms and reports as required.
  • Operates computer, scanner, copier and other office equipment as needed.
  • Expunges cases when ordered by the Court.
  • Attends meetings and/or training sessions as required.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.

Education

Minimum Requirements to Perform the Work:

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus some additional secretarial and computer training.

Work Experience

  • 3-5 years working experience in an office setting and with the public preferred.
  • Proficient in data entry/typing.
  • Legal experience a plus.
