Chief Deputy Clerk / Case Management Services Clerk

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of the Case Management Services Clerk is to update the official electronic Court docket. They must perform daily responsibilities related to the Case Management System and docketing of all Court records and pleadings, including Magistrates decisions, Judgment entries, issuing Writs of Restitution, reissuing summons, copies of complaints, service requests, and activities recorded in Cleveland Municipal Court.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned:

  • Verify that the information on the complaint matches the data in the computer.
  • Examine processing for neatness, exactness, and accuracy.
  • Compare data entered with source documents to ensure accuracy.
  • Scan documents when appropriate.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers in person and on the phones.
  • Responsible for retrieving files from the Housing Division.
  • Provide excellent customer service at the counter and on the phone.
  • Journalize administrative orders for General and Housing Divisions.
  • Perform duties necessary for the smooth operation of the Clerk of Courts office.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED; six months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands include sitting or standing for long periods, repetitive motions, occasional lifting of boxes up to 50 lbs., pushing file carts, and possible bending or stretching. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.
