FirstEnergy Corp in Akron, OH is seeking a Human Resources Administrative Support Specialist to provide administrative, operational, and customer service support to the HR department. You will assist with HR processes, employee inquiries, records management, reporting, and compliance tracking while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
The role includes onboarding activities, training coordination, coordinating with vendors, and supporting outages and restoration efforts as needed.

Position Summary: The Human Resources Administrative Support Specialist provides administrative, operational, and customer service support to the Human Resources department. This position assists with HR processes, employee inquiries, records management, reporting, compliance tracking, and department coordination while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Education: High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of three years of administrative work experience required; HR administrative experience preferred.
Skills: Advanced knowledge of administrative practices, procedures, and office support functions.
Must pass the Company's EEI Support and Administrative Selection System (SASS) test, if required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Suites including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Experience with SAP, Coupa, Empower, Intelex, FileNet, or related systems preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication, customer service, organization, prioritization, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines and producing accurate work.
Demonstrated discretion, sound judgment, and ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
Ability to work overtime as required for outage and storm restoration, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
