Job summary

Synchron, LLC is seeking an administrative professional to support OPNAV in daily program management at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

You will coordinate appointments and travel, review briefs for accuracy, manage calendars, prepare briefing materials, and ensure secure handling of sensitive materials for senior Navy leadership; coordinate with offices of Flag and General Officers.

Requirements: 2+ years of DoD experience, DoD SECRET clearance, and a Bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of related experience supporting DoD.
  • DoD Security Clearance at SECRET.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience in project management and organizational planning.

Responsibilities

  • Assist OPNAV personnel with implementation of business processes.
  • Coordinate travel and claim submission for relevant division leadership using the Defense Travel System (DTS).
  • Develop/maintain program records, databases and other documentation.
  • Provide support in milestone planning, tracking, scheduling, briefing preparation, and staff coordination.
  • Provides updates on project progress to OPNAV leadership.
  • Maintain security protocol throughout office spaces including the proper disposal of sensitive and classified material.
  • Resolve administrative problems and inquiries deferring to the appropriate government POCs when difficult questions or issues arise.
  • Coordinating appointments, schedules, event calendars and meeting calendars. Adjust conference room usage requests to avoid scheduling conflicts.
  • Maintain office calendars and print daily/weekly schedule of meetings and appointments.
  • Work closely with the offices of other Flag and General Officers, Senior Executives and other senior to ensure schedules are synchronized.

Education

Bachelor's degree
2+ years of related experience supporting DoD

Job description

Synchron is seeking a qualified candidate to support OPNAV in daily program management and administrative functions. This includes coordinating appointments and meetings, reviewing briefs and papers for grammar and content errors, assisting with front office daily activities, coordinating and adjusting conference room usage requests, maintaining schedules and event calendars, operation of unclassified and classified VTC suites, screening visitors and phone calls, and other administrative tasks for senior level OPNAV personnel. Work location is at the Pentagon.

Responsibilities
  • Assist OPNAV personnel with implementation of business processes. This includes contributing to and preparing personnel management documentation, participating in long range planning activities, establishing tasking priority/tracking, and metric development
  • Coordinate travel and claim submission for relevant division leadership using the Defense Travel System (DTS)
  • Develop/maintain program records, databases and other documentation
  • Provide support in milestone planning, tracking, scheduling, briefing preparation, and staff coordination
  • Provides updates on project progress to OPNAV leadership

Education and Experience
  • 2+ years of related experience supporting DoD
  • DoD Security Clearance at SECRET
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience in project management and organizational planning
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of related experience supporting DoD
  • Experience with Navy programs is highly desired; specifically in Civilian Manpower Functions (awards, performance cycles)
  • OPNAV experience is highly desired

Work Location: Pentagon, Arlington, VA. Routine Telework is not allowed for this position; Situational Telework may be granted dependent on workload and circumstances.
