USMEPCOM in Chicago seeks a Purchasing Agent to account for current and incoming inventory, adhere to procedures, and track assets using automated systems.
The role includes evaluating facility and equipment needs, advising the Commander and staff on motor vehicle management, and complying with background and credential requirements.

To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled including: Maintaining an automated inventory system to account for company's supply inventory; Resolving issues with supply requests to ensure required supplies can be obtained; Making approved purchases with a company credit card within established limits; Assisting in the management and/or maintenance of an organization's motor vehicle fleet. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
