University of Richmond is seeking an administrative professional to support Dining Services with payroll, timekeeping, HR coordination, and employee records. The role acts as a liaison with HR, Payroll and university departments, handling Workday tasks and onboarding logistics.

Job Description Provides comprehensive administrative and employee services support for Dining Services, with primary responsibility for payroll and timekeeping review, attendance administration, employee records, Human Resources (HR)-related processes, reporting, and department operations. Serves as a key administrative liaison for employees and managers and coordinates information and processes with HR, Payroll, and other University departments. Supports Dining Services leadership by coordinating administrative activities, monitoring department-wide initiatives and events, and keeping leaders informed of relevant updates and needs. Coordinates assigned special projects and assists with departmental procedures, tracking systems, and workflow improvements.
Payroll, Timekeeping & Attendance Overseas, reconciles payroll and timekeeping records for all Dining Services units; reviews manager-approved employee hours for accuracy, identifies and resolves discrepancies, coordinates corrections as needed, ensures that payroll deadlines are met. Verifies employee attendance, schedules, leave balances, and required training information; maintains accurate and confidential employee records. Monitors employee attendance points, coordinates required attendance documentation and follows up with managers regarding attendance records and related administrative processes. Generates and maintains workforce, payroll, attendance, overtime, training, and operational reports; audits information for accuracy and follows up on discrepancies.
Serves as a primary administrative liaison and resource for employees and managers, responding to questions and coordinating information with HR, Payroll, and other university departments. Completes assigned Workday tasks related to employee recruitment, hiring, onboarding, transfers, and separations; coordinates interviews, required documentation, and onboarding logistics.
Coordinates department communications, meetings, calendars, schedules, and administrative processes. Provides administrative support to Dining Services leadership, department-wide initiatives and events; monitors relevant activities, updates event board, and keeps leaders informed about updates, upcoming needs, and other information requiring their awareness or attention.
Greets and directs visitors, responds to inquiries, and performs other duties as assigned.
Coordinates assigned special projects and assists with developing and improving departmental procedures, tracking systems, and workflows.
Designated as essential employee. Primarily office environment. Occasional nights and some weekends required, including commencement and other special university events.
Excellent organizational, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and complete work independently with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee, payroll, and personnel information. Ability to work effectively with employees and managers at all levels and interact with diverse groups with professionalism, tact, and diplomacy.
Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to review, audit, and reconcile information and identify discrepancies.
Ability to research and resolve routine administrative issues and recognize when matters should be referred to or escalated to the appropriate manager or university department.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and the ability to learn and effectively use payroll, HR, scheduling, and other administrative systems.
Experience supporting payroll, timekeeping, employee records, or other workforce-related administrative processes. Experience working in a high-volume or complex administrative environment. Experience with Workday, a similar human resources or payroll system.
High school Diploma or GED; Associate degree - preferred Two to four years of progressively responsible administrative, employee services, payroll, HR, or related experience - required
Full Time, Non-Exempt Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm 8 hours daily/40 hours weekly
Pay Grade 4 ($18.34/hr. to $25.00/hr.)
