Job Summary

Performs administrative assistant support work of moderate complexity.

Essential Functions

Oversee daily operations of Oral Surgery clinic activities, coordinate patient scheduling, and optimize staff productivity. Direct daily operations of dental clinic staff and assist with training of new clinical and administrative staff as directed. Assist with clinic workflow implementation and manage department coverage. Ensure adherence to healthcare laws, including OSHA safety guidelines and HIPAA patient privacy rules. Manage medical billing and coding procedures. Monitor and maintain inventory on medical/clinical and office supplies while maintaining facility equipment. Notify appropriate contacts for ordering and service issues. Oversee patient relations and address patient clinical issues. Help explain office policy to patients. Help support staff as needed (i.e., scheduling, collect payments, insurance, etc.) Monitor patient satisfaction. Assist coordination of meetings when needed. Help arrange for staff CE. Manage ExamSoft for clinical course needs of Clinical Course Directors. Assist predoctoral students with patient matters and academic matters.

Physical Effort

This position involves moderate physical activity, including frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting. You will be required to stand and walk for extended periods, move between workstations, and lift and carry small to medium-sized items (up to 20 lbs) occasionally. Tasks may also include pushing or pulling equipment, reaching at or below shoulder level, and repetitive hand and arm movements. No heavy lifting or prolonged strenuous exertion is required, but candidates must be able to perform these activities safely and consistently throughout the workday.
