The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to support chairside activities, provide radiographic services, and guide patients through visits at the Pittsburgh campus. The role emphasizes infection control, patient flow coordination, and chart maintenance.
Responsibilities include maintaining aseptic conditions, following OSHA/HIPAA guidelines, keeping inventory, and assisting with clerical tasks while ensuring high-quality patient care.
Performs chairside dental assisting and radiography. Guides patients through visits and treatments, ensures charts are complete and necessary information is collected, and coordinates patient flow. Ensures infection control in operatories and with instruments. Maintains supplies.
The position will perform the following orthodontic/dental assistant functions: chairside assistance to residents; maintain an aseptic environment; follow OSHA, HIPAA and infection control guidelines; maintain and dispense inventory and instrument cassettes; maintain patient records; assist in ordering supplies and miscellaneous clerical duties.
Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
