Job summary

Kiddie Academy of Columbia, SC is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support daily operations at our childcare center. You will be the welcoming first point of contact for families and visitors, manage inquiries, enrollment steps, and front-office tasks with a friendly, professional approach.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and capable of handling multiple priorities while maintaining a warm, customer-focused environment for children, families, and staff.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Background and Central Registry checks must be pass.
  • Current TB test and physical, if required for the position.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred—or willingness to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome families, children, visitors, and prospective parents in a warm and professional manner.
  • Answer phone calls, and direct questions to the appropriate team member.
  • Assist with enrollment inquiries, center tours, applications, and new-family onboarding.
  • Track attendance and help ensure required forms and documents remain current.
  • Assist with tuition records, payment follow-ups, receipts, and basic administrative reporting.
  • Support staff scheduling, timekeeping, and payroll preparation.
  • Prepare correspondence, notices, reports, spreadsheets, and other center documents.
  • Communicate important reminders, events, and center updates to families.
  • Help maintain compliance with childcare licensing and program requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front-office area.
  • Provide administrative support to the director.
  • Assist teachers and classrooms when needed and appropriately qualified.
  • Help coordinate center events, family activities, and staff meetings.
  • Perform other reasonable duties that support the successful operation of the center.
