Job summary

Boston College Law School seeks an Administrative Assistant to support the Initiative for Tax Reform and the Common Good. Reporting to the Faculty Director, you will manage scheduling, correspondence, logistics, and coordination with outside consultants to ensure timely deliverables.

You will also handle social media and marketing tasks while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in a fast-paced academic environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2–3 years of related administrative support experience; higher education, law, or policy/advocacy setting preferred.
  • Advanced-level experience with standard office software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Adobe).
  • Strong organizational and project-support skills; extremely detail-oriented; ability to manage complex calendaring.
  • Experience managing social media and supporting marketing or communications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication; skilled at composing correspondence and recording minutes.
  • Self-starter who works well independently and in a small team, with sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Discretion and the ability to handle confidential matters; high degree of professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Keep the Faculty Director’s schedule, correspondence, and the Initiative’s logistics running smoothly.
  • Coordinate outside consultants and experts and track deliverables and timelines.
  • Manage the Initiative’s social media and marketing presence.
  • Support day-to-day operations of the Initiative for Tax Reform and the Common Good at BC Law School.

Job Description

Reporting to Professor Ray D. Madoff, Faculty Director, the Administrative Assistant provides high-
level administrative support, as well as day-to-day operational support, for the Initiative for Tax
Reform and the Common Good at Boston College Law School. The Faculty Director directs the
substance and priorities of the Initiative; the Administrative Assistant keeps her schedule,
correspondence, and the Initiative’s logistics running smoothly, coordinates outside consultants and
experts, tracks deliverables and timelines, and manages the Initiative’s social media and marketing
presence.

This position may be structured as either part-time or full-time — both will be considered. The
appointment runs through May 31, 2028, with a strong likelihood of extension based on continued
funding. Some early morning, evening, or weekend work may be required.

Hiring Range: $26.32/hr to $32.88/hr. Pay rate commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements
