Job summary

St. Joseph Catholic Church in Beeville, Texas is seeking an Administrative Assistant for the parish office to support the Pastor, Pastoral Associate and parish staff.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an office environment.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment screening (criminal history, MVR, drug screening).
  • Certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Diocese is required.

Responsibilities

  • Record sacraments and funerals in parish registers; prepare sacramental certificates as needed.
  • Manage weekly contributions and reconcile in ParishSoft; coordinate weddings and funerals.
  • Answer phones, transfer calls, and take messages for pastor and business manager.
  • Organize and file correspondence; prepare weekly bulletins; maintain office supplies.
  • Maintain Mass calendar, keep parish office orderly, and inform leaders of operations.

St. Joseph Catholic Church in Beeville, Texas, is hiring an Administrative Assistant for the parish office. The parish Administrative Assistant provides general office assistance to the Pastor, Pastoral Associate, and Parish Pastoral Staff to support the ministries and mission of St. Joseph Catholic Church. This work includes, but is not limited to: data and records management, phone and email support, supplies and inventory management, communications work, managing use of church space by parish and outside groups, supporting church ministries and committees and collaborating with parish volunteers. The Parish Administrative Assistant will be a resource person for both members and non-members, and a welcoming and responsive presence in our church’s office.Ministerial Character:The Diocesan Bishop is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the particular Church (“the Diocese”) entrusted to him. In a unique and visible way, he makes Christ's mission present and enduring as the Shepherd of the Christian Community. In order to fulfill his mission, the Diocesan Bishop employs suitable, chosen collaborators, who are clerics, religious, and lay people. He shares with them the apostolic mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.Each position employed in the Diocese of Corpus Christi helps to extend the ministry of the Diocesan Bishop in particular ways as outlined in the job duties and responsibilities.
