Description du poste

THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED A SALARY BETWEEN 95,000 AND $105,00.00

THIS POSITION IS ONLY OPEN TO CANDIDATES WHO ARE PERMANENT (NOT PROVISIONAL) IN THE CIVIL SERVICE TITLE OF ADMINISTRATIVE PROJECT MANAGER.

The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement, and programs for youth in the community.

The Division of Administration provides a wide range of support services throughout ACS to ensure all Divisions receive adequate and efficient support services to carry out their respective missions. The Division of Administration (Admin) employs approximately 463 public employees. Admin manages a Personnel Services (PS) Budget of approximately $29M and an Other Than Personnel Services (OTPS) Budget (OTPS) of $140M. It provides services including building maintenance, real estate, design, construction management, facilities and custodial services, occupational safety and health, operational support, security, transportation, and print production.

The New York City Administration for Children's Services (ACS) is seeking to fill the Admin Mechanical Manager position. In this role, the Manager will report to the Office of Real Estate Design Construction and Facilities Management (REDCFM). The Manager performs highly complex, responsible work in planning, coordinating, and overseeing the development and progress of a major capital project program. The Manager exercises broad latitude for independent judgment, initiative, and action, making determinations regarding costs, time estimates, and funding sources for construction projects. In an agency with a large capital budget, the Manager is responsible for developing, negotiating, and administering the overall capital budget. The Project Manager's decisions significantly affect the City's capital budget.

REDCFM manages all administrative buildings and facility operations, including construction, design, maintenance, and repairs, to support programmatic needs. The unit delivers capital projects within established schedules and fiscal parameters. On a routine basis, the manager is responsible for managing administrative building and facility operations, including construction, design, maintenance, and repair activities, to support agency programmatic needs. The role regularly coordinates with the Department of Design and Construction to advance capital projects in alignment with approved schedules and fiscal constraints. Responsibilities include overseeing ongoing repair and maintenance activities for administrative buildings, the Children’s Center, and providing support for the planning and execution of construction projects. The Manager routinely oversees the work of skilled tradespeople, contractors, architects, engineers, and other design professionals, monitoring compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and project timelines. The position requires continuous review and analysis of active and upcoming projects and daily work plans to sustain progress, address issues, and ensure accountability, as well as the preparation and maintenance of required records, documentation, and reports.

Section 424-A of the New York Social Services Law requires an authorized agency to inquire whether a candidate for employment with child-caring responsibilities has been the subject of a child abuse and maltreatment report.

The Administration for Children’s Services is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing access to all individuals.
