The University of Virginia Department of OBGYN seeks an Administrative Generalist/Coordinator to support our expanding clinical, research, education and community missions. This full-time, in-person role is based in Charlottesville on the Grounds; after 6 months, a hybrid schedule of 2 days on Grounds and 3 days remote is available.

  • Bachelor's Degree or combination of education and related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience in medical or academic medicine preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administrative support for the Midlife Group, including clinical scheduling, meeting coordination, and Menopause Matters meetings.
  • Provide cross-coverage administrative support for the Urogynecology (Urogyn) and Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) divisions, including clinical scheduling and meeting coordination.
  • Oversee the clinical credentialing process for the Department, including outreach clinics, ensuring timely submission, renewal, and compliance with all required documentation. Attend credentialing-related meetings as needed.
  • Manage resident pager assignments, distribution, and troubleshooting to support continuity of clinical coverage.
  • Oversee the consent process for Medicaid patients, working closely with coders to secure procedure coverage approval.
  • Serve as the onboarding specialist for Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and workflow across assigned functions.
  • Serve as a departmental representative at meetings and participate in collaborative initiatives as needed.
  • Additional responsibilities will be assigned based on the evolving needs of the Department.

Job description

The Department of OBGYN is seeking an Administrative Generalist/Coordinator to join our team in support of our expanding clinical, research, education and community missions. This full-time position is in-person and based in Charlottesville on the Grounds of the University of Virginia. Our growing department currently supports over 50 clinical faculty in clinical care across the State of Virginia, the 20 OBGYN Residents, 2 Fellowships, and Medical Student learners. This role offers variety, opportunity to engage in collaborative problem solving and welcomes initiative in execution of tasks. After 6 months, the position will be eligible for a hybrid work schedule of 2 days on Grounds with 3 days remote.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree or combination of education and related experience in lieu of a degree required. Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience: Medical or academic medicine experience.

Physical Demands

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.

Salary Range

The anticipated hiring range is $57,000-$65,000, depending on the role and commensurate with education and experience.

Exemption Status

Depending on the role, this could be a non-exempt or an exempt-level, benefited position. Learn more about UVA benefits.

Funding Details

This is a restricted position, which is dependent on funding and is contingent upon funding availability.

Work Arrangement

After 6 months, the position will be eligible for a hybrid work schedule of 2 days on Grounds with 3 days remote.
