DEPARTMENT: Administration STATUS: Full-Time

Hours: 40 hours per week. Hours may be adjusted in response to workload demands. Low census may be utilized in accordance with hospital policy.

ROLE/POSITION DEFINITION: This position provides advanced administrative and confidential support for multiple administrative team members. An Administrative Assistant performs a full range of duties that are highly confidential and requires advanced organization skills. Support duties could include clerical and receptionist duties and other such duties as preparing correspondence, scheduling meetings, maintaining files, data entry and creating reports utilizing a variety of software applications. This is a fast paced environment that requires the ability to prioritize and change gears quickly.

QUALIFICATIONS/POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

A. Education/Experience

  • High School Graduate or equivalency, required.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a general secretary, required.
  • Advanced level of proficiency in computer software programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, with the ability to learn additional programs as needed.
  • Accurate typing speed of 50-65 WPM.
  • Clerical perceptions to proofread typewritten documents, file records and post figures.
  • General knowledge of healthcare environment, standards and regulation, preferred.
