The Administrative Assistant to the Center for Academic Advisingand Student Success ( CAASS ) serves as the Office Manager andprovides advanced and diversified administrative support primarilyto the Campus Director of CAASS (Florham or Metro) and secondarilyto the academic advisors and other staff housed within the Center.Primary Center responsibilities include, serving as initial pointof contact for students, parents, faculty, and administrators;providing administrative support for CAASS staff, programs andinitiatives; communicating office policies, procedures andpractices to students, University personnel and thecommunity-at-large; researching information; overseeing and/orparticipating in the coordination and maintenance of all officefiles, including confidential student records; completing purchaserequisitions and maintaining associated budget records; and servingas the Advisement Center’s liaison to academic departments formatters and issues related to the operation of the AdvisementCenter.
The incumbent will also work closely with the Director and academicadvisors on creating and maintaining the curriculum checksheetsused by all Departments on the Florham or Metro campus.
The incumbent is expected to interface with students, parents, andthe University community in a highly professional manner, usingindependent judgment and discretion. This position is required tomaintain confidentiality of proprietary and private information anda customer-service focus while carrying out job responsibilitiesand will conduct business in a manner that will uphold theintegrity and reputation of Fairleigh Dickinson University. Thisposition maintains a thorough working knowledge of and adheres tothe policies, regulations, and procedures of the University.
