Job summary

Syracuse University is seeking part-time instructors to teach SPA 301 (Approaches to Reading Texts) for Fall 2026 at the Syracuse campus. Courses are 3 credits each and require an August start, with in-person on-campus duties and standard faculty responsibilities.

The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics invites applicants with a Master’s degree and native or near-native Spanish fluency, plus university teaching experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required.
• Native or near-native fluency in Spanish.
• Experience in university-level teaching preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update a course syllabus.
• Order books and materials in advance of the start date.
• Prepare lectures, projects, and assignments for students.
• Maintain two hours of office hours per week.
• Deliver instruction aligned with course competencies and outcomes.
• Meet all designated class periods and arrange substitutes if absent.
• Submit mid-semester progress reports and final grades in accordance with university policies.
• Grade student work in a timely manner.
• Provide department-approved student evaluations forms.
• Fulfill other course-related duties as required by the department.
