Job Description

UMKC School of Dentistry is seeking an academically experienced board-certified pediatric dentist to serve as Interim Department Chair of Pediatric Dentistry. Responsibilities include:

1. Teaching D6617 Pediatric Dentistry Seminar during the 2025 Summer Semester.
2. Teaching in the Pediatric Dental Clinic during the Summer and Fall Semesters, 2 days/week as scheduled, to maintain clinical coverage.

The faculty member will also handle administrative duties such as scheduling, responding to emails, representing the department during the Nov. 2025 CODA site visit, and other duties assigned by the Interim Dean/Dean. The position requires working 2.5 days per week.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Eligible for Missouri Dental License
• Board Certified in Pediatric Dentistry

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience as a course director for pediatric dentistry courses
• Experience serving as a department chair in pediatric dentistry
