Job Description

The University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry is seeking a part-time adjunct faculty member for the Department of Advanced Education in General Dentistry. The position is non-benefit eligible, non-tenure track, at the rank of Adjunct Assistant/Associate Professor. Hours vary based on opportunities.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Supervising residents in clinical sessions and approving treatment plans in Axium.
  2. Providing guidance on complex restorative cases, diagnosis, treatment planning, and collaboration with specialists.
  3. Discussing patient evaluation, treatment management, and outcomes with residents.
  4. Providing hands-on guidance in restorative procedures including operative, fixed, removable, and implant-supported restorations.
  5. Reviewing patient records for accuracy and comprehensiveness.
  6. Utilizing digital technologies and workflows in clinical practice.
  7. Evaluating residents' clinical skills, knowledge, and professional development.
  8. Providing evaluations, interpreting radiographs, and diagnosing treatment for patients when residents are unavailable.
  9. Assisting with integrating new technologies into the curriculum.
  10. Leading by example in clinical practice, demonstrating professionalism and ethics.
  11. Performing other duties supporting the mission of the program.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • DDS/DMD or equivalent
  • Eligibility for Missouri Dental Licensure

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certificate from an AEGD or GPR residency program
  • Experience with comprehensive, complex patient care
