  • At least 3 years of recent professional experience in medical offices, healthcare administration, or medical assisting.
  • Experience using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and healthcare technology platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA, medical terminology, insurance verification and billing, scheduling and patient service.
  • Minimum of three years of full-time teaching in healthcare, allied health, or health science education or workforce training.
  • Experience teaching adult learners or workforce development preferred.
  • Ability to prepare lesson plans, deliver classroom instruction, evaluate progress, and support CMAA exam prep.
  • Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current Certified Medical Administrative Assistant ( CMAA ), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant ( CCMA ), or equivalent healthcare credential.
  • Minimum (3) years of recent professional experience working in a medical office, healthcare administration, or medical assisting role.
  • Demonstrated experience using Electronic Health Record ( EHR ) systems and healthcare technology platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
    • Medical terminology
    • Insurance verification and billing processes
    • Appointment scheduling and practice management
    • Patient communication and customer service
    • Healthcare office procedures and workflows
  • Minimum of three (3) years of full-time teaching experience in healthcare, allied health, or health science education OR demonstrated experience providing workforce development instruction in a healthcare or related setting.
  • Experience teaching adult learners, workforce development participants, or career training students preferred.
  • Ability to prepare lesson plans, deliver classroom instruction, evaluate student progress, and support students preparing for industry certification exams (such as the NHA CMAA exam).
  • Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.

  • Experience developing or delivering Medical Office Assistant, Medical Administrative Assistant, or healthcare career training programs.
  • Experience working with community-based, workforce development, or grant-funded training programs.
  • Familiarity with industry certifications, externship coordination, and healthcare employer expectations.
  • Experience building relationships with healthcare employers, coordinating externships, internships, clinical experiences, or work-based learning opportunities.
