Job summary

Lansing Community College in Michigan is seeking professional welders to teach courses in the Welding Technology Program. Qualified individuals will teach oxy-fuel welding, brazing, and cutting, and will cover shielded metal arc, gas metal arc, and gas tungsten arc welding (pipe weld experience preferred).

You will diversify instructional techniques to match students’ learning styles, attend Applied Manufacturing Technologies program faculty meetings, and perform in-person face-to-face

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Welding or equivalent with 2+ years welding experience.
• Associate’s degree in Welding with 3+ years welding experience.
• Journeyman certification with 3+ years welding experience.
• High School Diploma/GED with Journeyman and 5+ years welding experience.
• AWS membership is preferred for applicants.

Responsibilities

• Teach welding courses including oxy-fuel welding, brazing, and cutting.
• Instruct SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW welding, with pipe welding experience preferred.
• Diversify instructional techniques to meet student learning styles and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Attend Applied Manufacturing Technologies program faculty meetings and meet all part-time faculty responsibilities.
• In-person daytime and/or evening teaching assignments at LCC West Campus.

Lansing Community College seeks professional welders to teach courses in the Welding Technology Program. Qualified individuals will be able to teach oxy fuel welding, brazing, and cutting. In addition, they will be able to teach shielded metal arc, gas metal arc, gas tungsten arc welding (preferably experience in pipe welding), and have knowledge of Metallurgy as it relates to Welding. Successful applicants will possess the ability to diversify instructional techniques as required by student’s learning style and maintain a positive learning environment, attend Applied Manufacturing Technologies program faculty meetings, and meet all requirements/responsibilities for part-time faculty.
This opportunity is for daytime and/or evening teaching assignments. This position requires in-person face-to-face instruction.

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Welding with a minimum of two (2) years documented industry welding experience; OR Associate's Degree in Welding and a minimum of three (3) years of documented industry welding experience; OR Journeyman certification in an area related to welding and minimum of 3 years of documented industry welding experience; OR High School Diploma or GED with Journeyman certification course studies related to the welding field and a minimum of five (5) years of documented industry welding experience.
American Welding Society (AWS) membership.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification.
Robotic Welding experience.
