Job summary

Job Summary

The Adjunct Upward Mobility Nursing Instructor has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, classroom and lab instruction, and clinical supervision. Assigned classes and clinicals may occur during the day or evening with varying teaching locations. This position reports to LSCPA’s Allied Health Department.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Provide quality instruction
  • Exhibit commitment and involvement in the development, implementation, and assessment of curriculum based on program, department and college goals and objectives
  • Attend faculty meetings
  • Maintain current knowledge, expertise, and safety in the subject areas of teaching responsibility along with broader higher education matters and trends
  • Respond to students, faculty and staff in a timely and professional manner
  • Occasional travel to various campuses and healthcare facilities
  • Comply with campus policies and procedures
  • Other related duties, as assigned
Minimum / Preferred Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master of Science degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university or Bachelor of Science degree with Master’s degree in related field and a minimum of six semester hours of graduate level content in nursing
  • Registered Nurse and registered to practice in the State of Texas
  • Must be currently employed in nursing or nursing education for the previous three years
  • Experienced in clinical nursing practice and able to assist students in a clinical setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching experience in higher education
  • Teaching experience at a two-year college
  • Experience in public speaking
  • Intermediate experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experienced in Blackboard Learning Management
Supplemental Information

Physical Requirements: Duties may include standing, walking, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting or moving of equipment or materials up to 25 pounds. Visual and auditory acuity are required to ensure effective instruction and safe supervision of students in classroom and laboratory settings.
