Job Summary

The Instructor of Upward Mobility Nursing has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, classroom and lab instruction, and clinical supervision. Assigned classes and clinicals may occur during the day or evening with varying teaching locations including on-campus. This is a full-time, 12-month exempt position that reports to LSCPA’s Allied Health Department Chair.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Provide quality instruction.
  • Participate in college tasks, which includes advising, recruiting, and tutoring.
  • Serve on departmental and college committees, perform community services, and participate in continuing educational and/or professional development opportunities.
  • Exhibit commitment and involvement in the development, implementation, and assessment of curriculum based on program, department and college goals and objectives.
  • Attend faculty meetings.
  • Maintain current knowledge, expertise, and safety in the subject areas of teaching responsibility along with broader higher education matters and trends.
  • Respond to students, faculty and staff in a timely and professional manner.
  • Occasional travel to various campuses and/or conferences, seminar locations, and healthcare facilities.
  • Comply with campus policies and procedures.
  • Other related duties, as assigned.
Minimum / Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Science degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science degree with Master’s degree in a related field and a minimum of six semester hours of graduate level content in nursing.
  • Registered Nurse and registered to practice in the State of Texas.
  • Must be currently employed in nursing or nursing education for the previous three years.
  • Experienced in clinical nursing practice and able to assist students in a clinical setting.
Physical Requirements

This position requires employees to remain in a stationary position most of the time; move to various locations on campus and in clinical settings; move about inside an office to access documents, office equipment, etc.; and operate a computer or other office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine.
