Job Summary

The Adjunct Vocational Nursing Instructor has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, classroom and lab instruction, and clinical supervision. Assigned classes and clinicals may occur during the day or evening with varying teaching locations. This position reports to LSCPA’s Allied Health Department.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Provide quality instruction
• Exhibit commitment and involvement in the development, implementation, and assessment of curriculum based on program, department and college goals and objectives
• Attend faculty meetings
• Maintain current knowledge, expertise, and safety in the subject areas of teaching responsibility along with broader higher education matters and trends
• Respond to students, faculty and staff in a timely and professional manner
• Occasional travel to various campuses and healthcare facilities
• Comply with campus policies and procedures
• Other related duties, as assigned

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university
• Three (3) years of varied nursing experience following graduation from an approved nursing program
• Registered Nurse and registered to practice in the State of Texas
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or higher
• Teaching experience in higher education
• Teaching experience at a two-year college
• Experience in public speaking
• Intermediate experience using Microsoft Office Suite
• Experienced in Blackboard Learning Management

Supplemental Information

Physical Requirements: Duties may include standing, walking, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting or moving of equipment or materials up to 25 pounds. Visual and auditory acuity are required to ensure effective instruction and safe supervision of students in classroom and laboratory settings.
