Southeast Community College is seeking an Adjunct Instructor for the Prison Education Program - Music, to teach at correctional facilities. The role requires a Master's degree in music and teaching experience, expecting effective communication with diverse students.
The part-time position demands flexibility in scheduling and the ability to work under supervision while utilizing various instructional strategies. Experience in carceral education is preferred.
Under the general direction and supervision of the Associate Dean and the Program Chair, the Adjunct Instructor is responsible for instructing students in various music classes. Instructors will teach on-site at a correctional facility.
This position is within the Prison Education Program (PEP). Prior experience teaching in a prison context is preferred. Training and orientation are provided by the correctional facilities and Southeast Community College’s Prison Education Program.
This is a part‑time temporary position and is part of a pooled adjunct faculty posting for the 2026–2027 academic year.
Salary TBD. Part‑time temporary employees are eligible to participate in the TIAA retirement plan through a Roth, SRA, or 457(B) account, with no match provided by the College.
Scheduling is based on the needs of Southeast Community College. Work hours, shifts, days, and locations may vary and are subject to modification. Emergency or scheduled special activities may require hours outside of the regular workweek.
