Adjunct Instructor, Integrated Education & Training Facilitator - (2026-2027) PTT

Under the general direction and supervision of the Assistant Director of Adult Education, the Adjunct Instructor will teach essential reading and math skills in the context of a 16‑week Integrated Education & Training (IET) workforce training course (e.g., CNA, Medication Aide, Manufacturing). The instructor will support students before the term begins with program readiness and during classes with job application support. The position will involve providing classroom support and teaching essential reading and math skills to support the workforce training area. Weekly hours will be approximately 16‑24 hours per week.

Essential Functions
  • Provide online program expectations to all students upon entry into Zoom classes, including an email, Zoom meeting, or phone call with important course and contact information.
  • Develop individualized support and educational planning based on students’ assessment results and goals for study, using data from pre‑measurement of skills and post‑measurement of progress to guide targeted supports.
  • Support students with appropriate advice regarding studies and learning, advising on materials and resources that may be useful for their improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records and participate in retention efforts, completing student attendance daily and encouraging accurate record‑keeping.
  • Arrange or proctor post‑testing for students, reviewing results upon completion.
  • Support students’ preparation for GED assessments.
  • Instruct and support specific math and reading needs at the K‑12 level, making materials recommendations and adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain and report assigned professional development.
  • Promote a culture of belonging by supporting an inclusive environment and fostering a community of respect.
Marginal Functions
  • Perform associated duties in other divisions/programs/areas as required.
  • Perform other College functions and duties as assigned.
  • Work varied days, hours, shifts, locations, and campuses as required, including emergency or scheduled special activities.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of instructing adults, secondary students, adult education, and/or working with adult education.
  • Use of computers and online learning programs, email, shared digital information, computer‑aided instruction, and audio‑visual communication software.
  • Ability to instruct in and clarify math and language arts from K‑12 levels; must reside in Nebraska.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for short distances, and move tables, chairs, and media equipment.
  • Effective communication skills in writing, in person, and on the phone.
  • Demonstration of the above skills and abilities or the ability to perform the essential functions with reasonable accommodation.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Previous teaching, teaching support, or training experience at secondary, post‑secondary, or adult level.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous workforce training experience.
