Job summary

College seeks instructors to deliver microbiology instruction, develop curricula, and assess student learning using modern educational theories. You will participate in program evaluation and standers alignment with the college mission while crafting administrative procedures and policy manuals.

You will coordinate schedules, manage test dates, and support articulation activities. The role requires a Master’s in Microbiology or equivalent with evidence of using Canvas LMS and Microsoft Office,

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Microbiology or equivalent plus 18 graduate semester hours in Microbiology.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related applications.
• Ability to use Canvas LMS and instructional technologies.
• Ability to interact positively with diverse populations including students, faculty and staff.

Job description

• Instruct college students in accordance with educational theories and techniques


• Develop discipline-related curricula


• Assess student learning


• Participate in program evaluation and college activities


• Maintain college and department standards supporting the College's mission and strategic plan


• Develop, maintain, interpret, and execute administrative procedures and practices


• Develop and maintain manuals regarding College policies, procedures, rules, and standards


• Analyze class and program needs and recommend course retention or deletion


• Develop and coordinate program and course schedules, faculty assignments, and test dates


• Maintain and adjust calendars tracking schedules


• Assist students with program curriculum, program and course reviews, and articulation activities


• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Microbiology or Master's Degree and 18 graduate semester hours in Microbiology


• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications


• Ability to utilize Canvas Learning Management System and other instructional technologies


• Ability to interact positively with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public


• Ability to work a fluctuating schedule including evenings and weekends


• Applications must include attached official transcripts, college-stamped student copies, or non-web based unofficial transcripts


• U.S. degrees must be conferred by an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation


• Foreign degrees must be validated by a NACES member organization, with an evaluation report attached before the application closing date
