Job summary

Southeast Community College is inviting applications for the role of Adjunct Instructor in Mathematics for the academic year 2026-2027. This part-time temporary position is based in Lincoln, where the faculty member will be responsible for providing instruction in assigned mathematics courses using various instructional strategies.

Job description

Adjunct Instructor, Mathematics (2026-2027 – PTT)

This position is a part‑time, temporary adjunct teaching assignment located in Lincoln. The Faculty member reports to the Associate Dean and Program Chair.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in assigned mathematics courses using a variety of instructional strategies (lectures, small groups, demonstrations, computer‑assisted instruction, and engaged learning practices).
• Prepare and administer student evaluation instruments, maintain accurate attendance and achievement records, and assist with department assessment data.
• Remain current in developments related to mathematics through professional development activities, such as in‑service training, conferences, workshops, and self‑study.
• Develop and revise course objectives, content, instructional strategies, classroom policies, and grading structures in collaboration with department faculty.
• Use technology for demonstrations, engaged learning, and assessments, and provide information needed for supply orders, course schedules, and other reports.
• Support a culture of belonging that welcomes, values, and affirms all students and staff, in accordance with the College’s equity policies.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Mathematics or a related discipline.
• OR Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related discipline plus a minimum of 6 graduate credits in the field and an approved plan to complete a Master’s within two years.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience teaching online and/or hybrid formats.
• Experience using Zoom for remote teaching.
• Familiarity with engaged learning practices.
• Relevant coursework that aligns with the courses to be taught.
