Qualified candidates must have at a minimum, a Master’s Degree in Japanese and three or more years teaching Japanese in a university or college environment. Experience should include time spent studying or living in a francophone country as well.
Qualified candidates would demonstrate an understanding of the needs of the World Language student in a community college environment and have significant experience working in a multicultural classroom. They must possess demonstrated excellence in teaching, commitment to integrating new technologies in the learning process, and the ability to inspire, motivate and empower students to succeed.
The position is at Harold Washington College and may require day, evening and/or weekend working hours in person.
Salary: $800.00 per contact hour. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant’s education, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as other factors such as internal equity.
