City Colleges of Chicago is seeking an Adjunct Instructor – Japanese for Harold Washington College. This position requires a Master's degree in Japanese and three or more years of teaching experience in a college or university setting. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellence in teaching and a commitment to integrating new technologies in learning.
Compensation is $800 per contact hour, with benefits including health packages, retirement plans, and tuition reimbursement. Chicago residency is required for full-time employees within 6 months of hire.

The position is at Harold Washington College and may require day, evening and/or weekend working hours in person.
Qualified candidates must have at the minimum a Master’s Degree in Japanese and three or more years teaching Japanese in a university or college environment. Experience should include time spent studying or living in a francophone country as well. Candidates should demonstrate an understanding of the needs of the World Language student in a community college environment and have significant experience working in a multicultural classroom. Candidates must possess demonstrated excellence in teaching, a commitment to integrating new technologies in the learning process, and the ability to inspire, motivate and empower students to succeed.
Salary: $800.00 per contact hour. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant’s education, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as other factors such as internal equity.
