Job summary

Arizona College of Nursing invites applications for an adjunct instructor in General Education. Under the supervision of the Dean, you will deliver courses in classroom, online, or lab using lectures, demonstrations, and audiovisual aids, while assessing student achievement.

Requirements include a Master’s degree or higher, at least 15 credit hours in the assigned subject, and 2–3 years of teaching or related educational experience, with strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher from an accredited program recognized by U.S. education authorities.
• Minimum of 15 credit hours (or equivalent) in the assigned subject area.
• Two years of practical experience in the course content area; three years if degree is unrelated.
• Minimum of three years of work experience as an educator is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English.

Responsibilities

• Keep students engaged in a classroom environment following the established curriculum/syllabus.
• Create a positive educational climate and communicate clear objectives for learning activities.
• Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
• Manage student behavior in classroom/online and evaluate performance.
• Refer at-risk students to Student Success Coordinator.
• Provide ongoing advisement and mentoring to students as needed.
• Grade tests and projects, maintain grade books, track attendance, and perform administrative duties.
• Administer tests to measure progress and training effectiveness.
• Participate in ongoing conferences, seminars, and training sessions.
