Job summary

Howard Community College (HCC) is seeking experienced adjunct instructors to teach adaptive classes for adults with IDD in our Inclusive Learning Programs. This on-site, part-time position offers opportunities across diverse topics such as life skills, financial literacy, foundational math, literacy, and more.

You will prepare engaging, real-life lessons and collaborate with staff to support students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience planning lessons and developing curriculum for adult education.
• Experience working with adults with IDD preferred or willingness to learn best practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach age- and developmentally appropriate lessons centered on practical topics.
• Demonstrate patience, empathy, and respect for differences.
• Respond professionally to issues with understanding of how disabilities affect learning and behavior.
• Collaborate with instructors and administrators to maintain program consistency.
