Job summary

Howard Community College is seeking part-time adjunct instructors to teach Computer Concepts within the BET Division and the CS & Cyber Technology Department. This pool will be used to fill available sections and may include face-to-face, online, or remote instruction.

Qualified candidates have a bachelor’s degree in IT or related fields, CompTIA Tech+ or CCST cert, and evidence of teaching excellence, with availability for day, evening, or weekend sections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in information technology, computer systems, cybersecurity, or a related field.
• CompTIA Tech+ certification; Cisco Certified Support Technician IT or higher (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+).
• Evidence of teaching excellence and commitment to community college mission.
• Availability to teach day, evening, and/or weekend sections.

Responsibilities

• Teach 3-credit Computer Concepts courses.
• Plan, organize, and deliver curriculum aligned with course objectives.
• Deliver instruction face-to-face, online, or remote as needed.
• Complete required institutional training and professional development.
• Prepare a course syllabus per department requirements.
• Plan instructional activities that promote student engagement and learning.
• Evaluate student performance using department-directed tools.
