Job summary

Lamar State College Port Arthur is seeking an Adjunct Business Administration Instructor to teach business courses and support curriculum in a flexible teaching environment. Classes may be held on-campus, via dual enrollment, or online, with daytime, evening, and hybrid options.

Qualifications

  • Work independently in the classroom.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Possess great time management and communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality instruction.
  • Exhibit commitment and involvement in curriculum development and assessment per program goals.
  • Attend faculty meetings.
  • Maintain current knowledge in teaching areas and higher education trends.
  • Respond to students, faculty and staff in a timely and professional manner.
  • Comply with campus policies and procedures.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Adjunct Business Administration Instructor has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, teaching business administration courses and completing all duties associated with teaching. Assigned classes may occur during the day, evening, and/or online with varying teaching locations including on-campus, dual enrollment, and Early College High School. This position reports to LSCPA’s Business and Industrial Technology Department.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Provide quality instruction
  • Exhibit commitment and involvement in the development, implementation, and assessment of curriculum based on program, department and college goals and objectives
  • Attend faculty meetings
  • Maintain current knowledge, expertise, and safety in the subject areas of teaching responsibility along with broader higher education matters and trends
  • Respond to students, faculty and staff in a timely and professional manner
  • Comply with campus policies and procedures
  • Other related duties, as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in any field with eighteen (18) graduate hours in a qualifying field
  • Work independently in the classroom
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Possess great time management and communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Business Management or Business Administration
  • Teaching experience in higher education
  • Teaching experience at a two-year college
Physical Requirements

Duties may include standing, walking, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting or moving of equipment or materials up to 25 pounds. Visual and auditory acuity are required to ensure effective instruction and safe supervision of students in classroom and laboratory settings.

Work Hours

Monday – Friday, with possibility of some evenings, depending upon class schedule.
