Employee Classification: Adjunct Instructor

Level: Adjunct-MD

Division: Arts & Sciences Division - 407000

Adjunct Positions are filled by semester on an as needed basis. Applicants in this applicant pool are reviewed when the department has an immediate need to fill a vacancy. Review of applications will then stop for the semester once the vacancy has been filled.

Adjunct (part-time) faculty to teach courses in Accounting. Depending upon program needs and the candidate’s qualifications, teaching assignments may be on LCC’s downtown campus, at an extension center (within 40 miles of the downtown campus), and/or via online delivery methods. Adjunct faculty are expected to work collaboratively with senior department faculty to develop course content consistent with official course syllabi, to deliver course instruction to students, and to be available for student assistance and advising outside of class. Additional responsibilities may include participation in course assessment, department/program meetings, professional development activities, and other duties as assigned.

Note: Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Accounting or subfield or 2) Master’s degree or higher in related field with a) professional certification (CPA, CMA, CFE, CIA) or b) 3 years professional experience in accounting or 3) Bachelor’s degree with professional certification (CPA, CMA, CFE, CIA) accompanied by 5 years’ experience in a senior management position.

Teaching or related work experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • Financial Accounting
  • Managerial Accounting
  • Cost Accounting
  • Auditing
  • Accounting Information Systems

Preferred Qualifications:

PhD degree or equivalent in Accounting or a closely related field.

Teaching or work experience in auditing and/or accounting information systems.
