Job Overview

Adjunct – Information Systems Technology provides quality instruction and maintains a positive learning environment in the classroom, with major emphasis on teaching, supporting, and evaluating students. The role involves instruction, monitoring teaching effectiveness, and overseeing the curriculum in conjunction with department policies.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses as scheduled and exercise oversight of curriculum in line with department policies.
• Design and support diverse learning activities that consider individual student differences.
• Identify students with academic or other needs and refer them to appropriate support services.
• Use technology appropriately and communicate expectations for its use to students.
• Maintain accurate records, attendance, grades, and syllabi per institutional policies.
• Conduct classes punctually and employ assessment techniques to measure student achievement.
• Engage in periodic meetings with department, Lead Instructor, and Chairperson regarding teaching duties and professional development.
• Maintain a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages collaboration, academic challenge, and community.
• Advise students during posted office hours and refer them to campus or community resources.

Student Engagement & Advisement

Creates a supportive learning environment, encourages communication using technology, and fosters a sense of community among students inside and outside the classroom.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with at least two years of related experience.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask while engaging large groups.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching, coaching, or mentoring at any level.
• Experience in full‑stack web development and familiarity with HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, Git, AWS, Agile, Docker, and web database technologies.

Working Conditions

Classroom environment may include in‑person or online modalities. Opportunities are available for teaching days, evenings, or weekends.

Compensation

Compensation: $56.88 per contact hour. One contact hour equals two teaching hours. Maximum of 12 contact hours per week (part‑time).
