Position Type: Part-Time (Adjunct/Contract)

Reports To: School Director

The History Program at Marymount University seeks applicants for adjunct faculty positions. Interviews will occur as open positions become available. The History Program values innovative approaches to pedagogy and interest in mentoring and supporting students of color, international students, transfer students, and first-generation students. Adjunct faculty will enjoy a supportive and collegial environment, as well as membership in the Washington Research Library Consortium.

Required Qualifications

• M.A. or Ph.D. in History or Politics or related fields
• Demonstrated active engagement in pedagogical development and scholarship
• Strong communication and instructional skills
• Commitment to inclusive excellence and student success

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior college-level teaching experience
• Experience with learning management systems and online teaching platforms
• Professional licensure or industry certifications (where applicable)
• Experience working with diverse and first-generation student populations

Compensation/Benefits

Adjuncts receive remuneration on a semester basis, and is typically $1,200/credit hour. They may make their own contribution to a 403b retirement plan.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and employment verification, and other role related requirements such as motor vehicle and/or drug screening.
