Job summary

Monmouth University on the West Long Branch campus seeks adjunct professors of Geography for the History and Anthropology department. Teaching 3–6 credits per semester, you will hold office hours, and use the LMS (D2L). Courses are taught in person at the West Long Branch campus.

Positions remain open to expand the pool of qualified adjunct faculty. Screening begins when an open position is available; you will be notified by email with next steps.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in Geography or a related field.
  • Teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver course lectures, discussions and assignments in accordance with the curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Provide time during the week to meet with students outside of class.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to student engagement and academic success.
  • Develop and administer projects and exams to evaluate student learning outcomes and provide grades in a timely manner.
  • Provide timely feedback and guidance to students to support their learning and development.

Description

Monmouth University is seeking applications for Adjunct Professors of Geography in History and Anthropology department.

The candidate is expected to: teach 3 – 6 credits per semester, hold office hours (be available to meet with students a minimum of one hour per week per 3 credits taught), and use the university's designated LMS system (D2L). Courses are taught in person at the West Long Branch campus. Adjunct positions remain posted continuously to expand the university’s pool of qualified adjunct faculty. Screening of applications will commence when an open position becomes available.Should a position become available, you will receive an email advising you of the next steps.

This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.
