The District Board of Trustees of Pensacola State College, Florida is seeking adjunct faculty to teach college-level speech courses. This opportunity involves instructing students, developing curricula, and maintaining standards while participating in program evaluation.
Candidates must have a graduate degree in a relevant field, and a successful criminal background check is necessary. Compensation is hourly based on degree level, with rates starting at $35.00 per hour. Positions are filled on an as-needed basis.

The English and Communications Department offers college-level speech courses in face-to-face, live online via Zoom, and asynchronous online formats. Adjunct instructors instruct students, develop curricula, assess student learning, participate in program evaluation, and maintain College and department standards.
This is an open applicant pool. Positions are filled by the department on an as-needed basis.
To teach college-level courses, a graduate degree from an institution accredited by the U.S. Department of Education and approved by the College with a master’s degree in the relevant field, or a master’s degree plus 18 graduate hours in the field, is required. Successful results of a criminal background check are also required.
Adjunct Faculty shall be paid on an hourly basis according to degree level: Master’s Degree: $35.00 per hour; Doctorate: $38.00 per hour.
Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of Section 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.
