Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana in Kokomo seeks an adjunct nursing faculty member to teach and guide nursing students using the college’s common syllabi and Ivy Learn platform.

The role requires an Indiana RN license, a master’s degree in nursing or higher, and at least two years of nursing experience. The position is part-time and semester-based, with responsibilities across instruction, assessment, and student support.

Qualifications

• Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction, as applicable to the nursing field.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Possesses a current, unencumbered Indiana Registered Nurse license and a master's or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution (master’s in nursing preferred).

• Provide syllabus appropriate to course being taught and follow syllabus content.
• Maintain attendance and grading records per college policy and timelines.
• STUDENTS: Be available to students outside scheduled class time to assist.
• INSTRUCTION: Meet all scheduled classes; use Ivy Learn, PowerPoint, and similar tools.
• INSTRUCTION: Notify chair in emergencies and promote diversity and inclusion.

General Purpose and Scope of the position

Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis.

The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School.

Major Responsibilities

• PROGRAM OPERATION: Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
• Program operation: Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements.
• Program operation: Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook. Submits requested information within established timelines.
• STUDENTS: Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance. Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.
• INSTRUCTION: Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s). Use technology such as Ivy Learn, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.
• INSTRUCTION: In event of emergency absence, notifies program/department chair. Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views. Promote same as an integral part of one's work.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction, faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 as applicable to the specific area of instruction.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Possesses a current, unencumbered Indiana Registered Nurse license and Possesses an earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution. (A master’s degree in nursing is preferred).
