Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana seeks an Adjunct Nursing instructor to provide high‑quality instruction and assessment in assigned courses, using the syllabus framework provided by the School. You will meet all scheduled classes, maintain attendance and grading records, and support students with timely feedback and help outside scheduled hours.

  • A qualified nursing faculty member has a master's degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution, is an RN licensed in Indiana, and has two years of related work experience.

  • Maintain attendance and grading records per College policy.
  • Be available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions.

Job Description Summary Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part‑time positions hired each semester on an as‑needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School. PROGRAM OPERATION: Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes. Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements. Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook. Submits requested information within established timelines. STUDENTS: Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions and/or provide assistance. Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues. INSTRUCTION: Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s). Use technology such as Canvas, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate. In event of emergency absence, notifies program/department chair. This position and the posting will stay open continuously in order to build a pool of qualified candidates for future openings as Adjunct Instructors. Applicants will not be notified unless there is an actual need to fill the position or if the candidate does not meet minimum requirements.

Education, Experience And Other Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction, faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 as applicable to the specific area of instruction. A qualified faculty member in nursing is one who has an earned master's degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution, is a Registered Nurse licensed in Indiana, and has two years of directly related work experience.
