Job Description

We are seeking an individual to teach our Aircraft Non‑Metallic Structures (AMT 2105) course. The ideal candidate will be available to teach between the hours of 8a.m. and 3p.m. and will teach the course from the end of March through the beginning of May, with the possibility to teach other aviation maintenance technology courses.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality instruction and maintain a positive learning environment, emphasizing teaching, supporting, and evaluating students.
• Monitor teaching/learning effectiveness in courses assigned by the Department Chair or other leadership members.
• Design curriculum to foster student talent and implement inclusive teaching strategies.
• Consider individual student differences to develop appropriate learning activities.
• Identify students with academic or other needs and utilize appropriate resources.
• Use technology in a manner appropriate to course objectives and clearly communicate expectations regarding its use.
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with departmental policies, including attendance, grades, and progress feedback throughout the semester.
• Distribute and maintain accurate syllabi that incorporate departmental, college, cross‑college, and instructor requirements.
• Conduct classes punctually and according to the prescribed meeting schedule.
• Employ assessment techniques to measure students’ performance relative to course goals and objectives.
• Participate in periodic meetings with the department, Lead Instructor, and Chairperson concerning teaching duties and professional development.
• Create a positive classroom atmosphere encouraging active, collaborative learning and student–faculty interaction.
• Advising potential or current students about programs, careers, or transfer options to assist with degree completion.
• Refer students to appropriate student and academic support services.
• Maintain a safe environment that respects and includes all faculty, staff, students, and community members.

Minimum Qualifications

• FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant rating.
• Four (4) years of industry experience.
• State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work sites.
• Appropriate combination of education, training, coursework, and experience that may qualify a candidate.

Compensation

Compensation: $56.88 per contact hour. One contact hour equals two teaching hours. Maximum of 12 contact hours per week. Position is part‑time.
