Job summary

Divergent in Torrance, CA, is seeking a Manufacturing Equipment Engineer II to transition Laser Powder Bed Fusion production equipment from development into high-volume manufacturing. You will work with cross-functional teams to stabilize new machines, improve reliability, and implement engineering standards across the fleet.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical/electrical/controls issues, driving OEE improvements, supporting RCCA investigations, and collaborating on DFx

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline.
• 4–6 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, equipment engineering, reliability engineering, or advanced production environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and/or control systems.
• Experience with structured root cause analysis methodologies (e.g., RCCA, 5 Whys, Fishbone).
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, operations, quality, and maintenance teams.
• Strong analytical and data‑driven decision‑making skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the transition of newly developed production equipment from qualification into sustained manufacturing.
• Drive improvements in equipment reliability, throughput, yield, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls, and process‑related issues affecting production.
• Apply and improve engineering standards that ensure consistency across production assets.
• Provide production feedback to design engineering on machine performance and reliability.
• Support RCCA investigations and cost reduction through equipment optimization.
