Job summary

Divergent is seeking an Additive Manufacturing Equipment Engineer II to own assigned L-PBF production equipment after qualification. You’ll work across equipment engineering, manufacturing, quality, reliability, and operations to apply independent judgment and improve standard work.

You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls, and process-related issues while partnering with senior engineers to stabilize new machines and scale the fleet across multiple factories.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline.
• 4–6 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, equipment engineering, reliability engineering, or advanced production environments.
• Experience supporting launch or ramp of production equipment or processes.
• Strong troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and/or controls systems.
• Structured root cause analysis methodologies (RCCA, 5 Whys, Fishbone).

Responsibilities

• Take technical responsibility for assigned production L-PBF equipment after qualification.
• Improve machine reliability, throughput, yield, and OEE on assigned machines.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls, and process-related issues.
• Provide production feedback to design engineering on machine performance and reliability.
• Support RCCA and corrective actions for equipment failures.
• Contribute to cost reduction through equipment optimization and process improvements.
• Assist with capital equipment installation, commissioning, and production readiness.
• Act as a technical resource for operators, technicians, and peers.
